2 Dead After Ferrari Crashes in Middleton

MIDDLETON, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say two men died when the Ferrari they were in struck a tree and burst into flames in Middleton.

Police say the men were likely speeding when the sports car went out of control on the winding country road at about 6 p.m. Sunday.

They were pronounced dead at the scene but their names were not immediately released.

Firefighters say the car was fully engulfed by the time they arrived.

There were no witnesses but homeowners in the area describe hearing a screech of tires and the impact, and seeing flames shoot 30 feet in the air.

The crash remains under investigation.
