LEOMINSTER, Mass. (AP) — Two state police troopers and another driver were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a Ford Explorer and a state police cruiser collided nearly head-on on Route 12.
A state police spokeswoman says the crash occurred just before 8 p.m. Sunday.
Police tell The Sentinel & Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1vsmlVO ) that the trooper was a member of the most recent class of Massachusetts State Police Academy graduates and was driving with a ‘‘trooper coach’’ who was providing on-the-road training.
No names were released.
The crash was nearly head-on, with the Ford Explorer slamming into the front, driver’s side of the cruiser, leaving the both vehicles with extensive damage.
