LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) – An accident between two tractor trailers caused major delays on the westbound on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Ludlow Tuesday morning.
Trooper Darren Specht told 22News the collision happened just before Exit 7 on the westbound side just before 6:00 A.M. Neither of the drivers were injured in the crash.
The accident forced both lanes to shut down. Troopers eventually opened up a single lane of traffic, before the crash was cleared hours later. At one point during the commute, backups had extended as far east as Exit 8 in Palmer.
With all lanes open, traffic is now flowing freely in the area.
