Police in Lowell, Massachusetts, are investigating a serious car crash.
According to police, a vehicle carrying two 24-year-old men from Lowell was heading westbound on Pawtucket Blvd. Tuesday afternoon when it lost control and struck a curb. As a result, the vehicle was sent into the opposite lane of travel where it struck another vehicle operated by a 24-year-old Lowell woman.
Both of the men in the original vehicle were taken to Lowell General Hospital and then flown by medical helicopter to Boston hospitals. The female operator was transported to Lowell General Hospital with serious injuries.
Pawtucket Blvd. north of Old Ferry Road to Island Road was closed during the investigation.
