3 Injured in Head-On Crash in Saugus, Massachusetts

A head-on crash in Saugus, Massachusetts, left three people injured Saturday, police said.

According to officers, the driver of one vehicle was seriously injured, and two passengers in the second vehicle were critically injured, one being ejected from the car. Officials said the driver of the second car had fled the scene when responders arrived.

Officers said they believe the driver who fled to be a 19-year-old Saugus man, who lost control of the vehicle that lead to the accident. Police said he faces several charges.

Both local and state police are investigating the incident.

Officials said the road was closed for about 4 hours after the crash, but the scene is now clear. The three injured have been transported to hospitals with serious injuries, police said.

Authorities have not released any other information.
