3-year-old girl dies after Randolph car crash

RANDOLPH, Mass. —A 3-year-old girl was killed after a car she was riding in was involved in a serious two-car crash in Randolph Wednesday evening.

Massachusetts State Police said just before 6 p.m. they received word of a crash on Route 24 north involving a 2000 Toyota Corolla and a 2003 Chevrolet S10 pick-up truck.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found the girl, whose name was withheld because of her age, suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The girl was rushed to Boston Medical Center and later died.

State police said Phania P. Michel, 20, of Randolph, who was driving the car and Jeannecker N. Vertil, 35, of Randolph, a passenger, were not injured.

Mary B. Lynch, 50, of Hyde Park, who was driving the truck was injured, but those injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact the Massachusetts State Police.
