EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A 30 year-old man from Springfield has been identified as the person killed in a one-car crash in East Longmeadow Monday night.

Sgt. Steven Manning told 22News that Daniel Federici was a passenger inside the car, which crashed into a rock wall and then a tree near 173 Chestnut Street at around 9:30 P.M. Federici died from his injuries.

The driver of the car, a 34 year-old resident of East Longmeadow, was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but is expected to recover.

Police are still looking into the cause of the crash, but Manning said that the driver may have been going too fast.
