Bernardston Woman Dies in Early Morning Crash

BERNARDSTON, Mass. (WGGB) — A young woman died in a single motor vehicle crash in Bernardston early this morning and police are asking for the public’s help in determining what happened.

24-year-old, Malerie Kidder who’s from Bernardston, was driving a Mazda sedan on South Street near the intersection with Depot Street.   The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office says investigators believe she had been traveling in a northerly direction when her vehicle “crossed the yellow line and crashed into a utility pole on the east side of the road.”

DA Representative, Mary Carey says that Malerie was transported to Baystate Franklin Hospital shortly after 7:00 a.m.  where she was pronounced dead.

The crash is under investigation by the local police and fire personnel in Bernardston as well as the State Police.
