The victim of a two-car accident early this morning on Interstate 95 has been identified by Massachusetts State Police as Tessalon Bishop, 33, of Boston.
According to police, troopers from the State Police barracks in Foxborough, responding to the crash at 4:15 a.m. on I-95 southbound near Exit 11A, found that a 2008 Lexus sedan operated by Bishop had made contact with the driver’s side of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The Lexus then hit the median strip and came to rest against a bridge abutment.
Bishop was ejected and declared dead at the scene, state police said. In a news release, state police said speed is being considered a factor in the crash.
The operator of the truck was not injured and not expected to face charges, state police said.
The road was closed for about four hours, causing major traffic delays throughout the morning.
The crash is under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Photo, the Norwood police and fire departments and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
