Bridge Street Reopened Following Pedestrian Accident in Northampton

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB) — Bridge Street is reopened after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Tuesday night.

Northampton Police say that around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, a young female was hit on Bridge Street — near Parsons Street.

Police told ABC40 that a female in her early 20’s has been transported to Baystate with life-threatening injuries.

She was found on-scene trapped underneath the car.

The driver of the car remained at the scene of the accident for a few hours. The driver then went to the police station, but is not in custody.

The Accident Reconstruction team was called in to investigate.
