Canton couple struck by car die

CANTON – A husband and wife struck by a car while crossing the street in front of their Canton home last week have died.

Police say Boris and Margaret Baron, both 67, were walking across Will Drive at 8:40 p.m. Thursday when they were hit by a car driven by a 21-year-old Acushnet man.

The Barons were taken to Boston Medical Center with serious injuries, where they both died on Saturday.

Canton and state police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.

Police have described the incident as a “tragic accident” and say it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were factors.

The Patriot Ledger  reports that no charges have been filed. The driver’s name has not been made public.
