Car Crashes Into Restaurant in South Deerfield, 3 People Hurt

SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A woman is facing charges after her vehicle crashed into a South Deerfield restaurant.

Deerfield Police say that just before 6 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to a report of a crash at Jerry’s Place on North Main Street in South Deerfield.

A vehicle went off the road and hit the wall of the diner.

The diner’s owner, Jerry Dagrosa, said that three people that were inside at the time had minor injuries.

An entire wall off the side of the building was knocked out from the impact of the crash.

The driver of the car, Kristy Lake of Northfield, was taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say that Lake is currently under arrest and is being charged with operating under the influence of an intoxicating liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failure to inspect a motor vehicle, and failure to stop for a stop sign.
