A Marlborough man is suspected as having caused a serious car accident on Route 2 westbound at Piper Road in Acton Friday morning.
At approximately 10:55 a.m., troopers from the Massachusetts State Police barracks in Concord responded the two-vehicle crash involving four people, that has left several of them in serious condition at area hospitals.
“Thomas C. Bouvier Jr., 30, of Marlborough, (operating a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up) ran a red light at the intersection and struck the side of a 2008 Toyota Rav-4, being operated by Jian P. Ge, 47, of Westford,” said a state police statement. “None of the injuries to any of the four individuals are believed to be life-threatening at this time.”
The statement said that both operators and the passenger in the Silverado, Enrique Basaldo, 59, were transported to Emerson Hospital in Concord, while a fourth victim, Yufen Ilu, 47, the passenger in the vehicle that was struck, has been taken to UMass Medical Center-Lakeside in Worcester also with serious injuries.
Trooper Kevin S. Haley, who conducted the preliminary investigation, is still collecting witness statements at this time along with other state police officials.
“Preliminary indications are that charges against Bouvier will be forthcoming once all interviews have been completed,” said the statement.
