Child hurt in head-on Attleboro crash

A child has been hospitalized after a head-on car crash on South Main Street in Attleboro.

Police at the scene tell Eyewitness News that the two-car wreck happened at about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Seanna Road and South Main Street.

Officers say that a silver Nissan Maxima driven by Tammy Webster crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and struck a Maria Rocha of Attleboro driving a white Nissan Altima.

A 4 year-old child in the Maxima was rushed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence with injuries to his leg and head.

Webster told police she veered into oncoming traffic on Seanna Rd. to avoid hitting a bicyclist.

Both cars sustained extensive front end damage and the road was closed for about an hour.

Webster and Rocha were both taken to Rhode Island hospital.

Rocha was treated and released from the hospital for injuries to her back.
