CHELMSFORD – A driver was arrested Wednesday morning after his truck slammed into a home in Chelmsford, causing major damage.
Police say 21-year-old Joseph Kimble of Clinton failed a field sobriety test and was charged with drunk driving. They say the accident happened around 2:00 a.m. Wednesday when Kimble swerved around another car, drove through a utility pole and went careening into the home at 38 Acton Road.
The building inspector deemed the home uninhabitable in an inspection Wednesday morning. The home was moved off of its foundation by the impact, but no one inside was injured.
Kimble was due in Lowell District Court later Wednesday.
