Girl suffers life-threatening injuries in Foxborough car crash

A 17-year-old girl from Franklin suffered life-threatening injuries early Friday when her car veered off Interstate 495 in Foxborough and struck a tree in the median, State Police said.

The driver was traveling south near Exit 14A at about 12:10 a.m. when her 2001 Nissan Altima crashed, State Police said in a statement.

The teen, who was not identified, was extricated from the car and taken to a Providence hospital with serious injuries. She was only person in the car at the time of the crash, State Police believe.

State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
