Hanson pedestrian injured, flown to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston

VEHICLE WAS BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY WHEN IT HIT WOMAN

HANSON —A 55-year-old woman was flown to Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital in critical condition after being struck by a small SUV while crossing a driveway in Hanson.

The accident happened Saturday morning on Capt. Nathaniel Drive at 9:08.

The woman was hit by a vehicle backing out of a driveway, said Lt. John Rothwell of the Hanson Fire Department. “It was an accident,” he said.

Police and fire crews responded to the scene and offered treatment before the woman was taken by helicopter to Mass General. She is listed in critical condition.
