Holyoke accident kills Connecticut man

A 31-year-old man was killed in an early morning car crash on Route 91 and Lower Westfield Road.

The name of the victim is not being released until his family can be notified. He is from Hartford, Connecticut, Massachusetts State Police said.

The victim was traveling north at about 3:35 a.m., Sunday, near the area of Exit 15 when he lost control of his 2003 Cadillac Escalade. The car ended up on Lower Westfield Road, police said.

“The operator and sole occupant was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. He was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said.

The preliminary investigation was conducted by Trooper Matthew Greaney. The cause of the accident is being investigated by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, police said.

The Holyoke Police and Fire departments assisted State Police at the crash scene, police said.
