TYNGSBORO — An unidentified man was flown to a Boston trauma center with serious injuries after he was involved in a Jet Ski crash on Lake Mascuppic on Saturday evening, according to police.
Police Chief Richard Howe said the man, whose name and age he could not immediately release, was taken by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital and from there was flown to Boston by a medical helicopter.
Howe said no one else was injured.
He said the Massachusetts Environmental Police would lead the investigation into the crash. No one from the Environmental Police could immediately be reached for comment.
Photographs showed emergency crews pulling the injured man from the water near Willowdale Beach in Dracut on Saturday evening. Dracut Deputy Chief David Chartrand said that because the crash occurred on the Tyngsboro side of the lake, he referred questions to Tyngsboro police.
Lake Mascuppic straddles the Dracut and Tyngsboro line near the New Hampshire border.
