STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WGGB) — One man is dead following a crash Tuesday in Sturbridge.
Mass. State Police say that around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, troopers responded to a report of a one-car crash on Interstate 84 east, just before Exit 2 in Sturbridge.
The agency adds that a preliminary investigation indicates that a man was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina eastbound, when for some reason, he lost control, veered off the road on the right side, and struck a guardrail.
The vehicle came to a rest between the right and breakdown lanes.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.
Two lanes of I-84 east were closed for some time due to the crash, but all lanes have since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
