A Massachusetts man was killed late Saturday night in a one-car accident in Weld, according to the Maine State Police.
Richard Rogers, 58, of Pembroke, Massachusetts, lost control of his 2006 Honda Civic while driving north on Route 156 in the Franklin County town. The car crossed the centerline and struck a large tree. Excessive speed and possibly the presence of a deer in the roadway are the likely causes of the crash, according to state police.
Rogers died at the scene.
