A passager on a motorcycle that crashed on Route 95 in Newton Sunday has died from her injuries.
The accident took place around 7:20 p.m. Sunday northbound at Exit 21, State Police report. They have not yet released the name of the victim.
Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Framingham responded to the scene. Both the driver and the passenger suffered serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to Beth Israel Hospital for treatment.
All of the northbound lanes of travel were closed for approximately 30 minutes to allow for emergency workers to respond and work the scene. Members of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team (CARS) and Crime Scene Service Section (CSSS) are also on scene Sunday evening.
Newton Police and Fire Departments and representatives from Mass DOT assisted the State Police.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, police say.
The condition of the motorcycle operator is still unknown Monday morning.
