Motorist injured in West Boylston crash

WEST BOYLSTON – Officers are investigating a one-car accident on Route 110 Tuesday morning that sent a Webster man to a hospital.

Christopher Robinson, 39, was driving a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix that left Route 110 between Fairbanks Street and Campground Road, continued about 50 feet into a wooded area and then hit a tree, said West Boylston Police Sgt. Anthony Papandrea.

Officials were called to the scene about 7:15 a.m. The West Boylston Fire Department freed Mr. Robinson from the wreckage.

Mr. Robinson was taken to the UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester.

Officials shut eastbound traffic on Route 110 for about two hours while responding to the accident.

Sgt. Pratt said an initial investigation indicated speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash. A Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council accident reconstruction team continues to investigate.
