EDGARTOWN – Massachusetts State Police say a New Hampshire woman injured in a car crash on Martha’s Vineyard on the Fourth of July has died.
Police announced Monday that 21-year-old Heather LaFlamme of Berlin, N.H. died at a Boston hospital on Saturday.
LaFlamme was one of five people injured Wednesday when a Jeep Wrangler was struck by a Volkswagen sport utility vehicle in Edgartown.
LaFlamme was a rear seat passenger. The driver and two other passengers, all from New Hampshire, were also hurt. The driver of the Volkswagen, from Cambridge, was also injured.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the Jeep, which has it steering wheel on the right side, was making a U-turn when it was broadsided by the Volkswagen.
The investigation continues and no charges have been filed.
