One Child Dead After Head-On Crash in Brimfield

BRIMFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A child was pronounced dead on the scene after a head-on crash in Brimfield Friday evening.

Several other people were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Massachusetts State Police out of the Sturbridge Barracks were assisting Brimfield Police with the head-on collision on Sturbridge Road. Two cars collided and ended up against a guard rail.

The call for the crash came in just before 5:00 p.m. State Police troopers said two Life Flight helicopters were called to the scene. State Police were reconstructing the crash as part of that investigation, but Brimfield Police are handling the case.

No information about the child who died is known at this time.

No charges have been filed yet and the investigation continues.
