One Dead Following Weekend Crash in South Hadley

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WGGB) — Authorities say that a Feeding Hills man died following a weekend crash in South Hadley.

Mary Carey, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s office, says that one car went off the road and crashed into some trees near The Meadows, off of Amherst Road in South Hadley, around 4:40 p.m. Saturday.

The passenger in the car – Wesley Schutt, 62, of Feeding Hills – died as a result of the crash.

The driver, whose name has not been released, is expected to be cited, according to Carey.

There were no other people in the car.

The crash remains under investigation by South Hadley Police, state troopers assigned to the Northwestern D.A.’s office, and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
