LYNN – An 80-year-old Boston man was killed on Saturday morning after being hit by a car on the Lynnway.

According to preliminary reports by the Massachusetts State Police, a black 2005 Land Rover operated by Adriana Ribeiro, 37, of Swampscott, was traveling in the third travel lane at the time of the accident. Ribeiro stopped to allow a group of pedestrians to cross the road from the center median. The victim was crossing into the middle lane when he was hit by a white 2000 Nissan Altima operated by Guerbie Gilles, 22, of Somerville. She was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

The 80-year-old man, identified as Dominic Aricri, was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
