A pedestrian struck by a tractor-trailer on I-290 in Northborough this morning is expected to survive, state police said this afternoon.Trooper Todd Nolan said the man, whose age, hometown and name have not yet been released, was in the right-hand lane of travel on I-290 westbound during the morning commute when he was hit by a tractor trailer.
Nolan said the man had stopped his car by the side of the road. He said police still do not know the reason why he was standing in the road.
Nolan said the man was taken to UMass Memorial in Worcester. Specifics on the man’s injuries were not available, however Nolan said he is expected to survive.
The accident caused traffic delays this morning as the right and middle lanes were closed so that officers could investigate what happened.
