Police: Lee crash may have been suicide attempt

LEE, N.H.—Police say a Barrington man who fatally shot himself after being involved in a car crash may have been attempting suicide when his vehicle collided head on with another car.

Authorities say after 27-year-old Andrew Hubbard was involved in the crash Tuesday night in Lee, he pulled a shotgun from his vehicle, ran to a nearby business and shot himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the lack of skid marks from Hubbard’s vehicle when it crossed from the south into the northbound lanes may indicate a “failed suicide attempt.”

The crash remains under investigation.

Jennifer Sudol, of Haverhill, Mass., the driver of the other vehicle, hid when she saw the gun. She suffered minor injuries.
