REVERE – Police arrested a man for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a woman walking home from work this morning in Revere.
State Police said Sothany Pen, 22, was crossing Lee Burbank Highway from east to west when she was struck by a green Ford Explorer driving northbound at about 5:50 this morning.
Pen was transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
On Monday afternoon police arrested 47-year-old Jon Ravida. The East Boston man is charged with motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
The crash happened on near the Winthrop Avenue ramp.
Pen’s death comes a little more than 24 hours after a 39-year-old Chelsea man was struck and killed while walking along Route 16. He was walking north about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he was struck while trying to cross. The driver of that vehicle fled.
