State Police Investigate Fatal Crash on Route 146 in Uxbridge

Sunday at 4:15 a.m. troopers assigned to the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Millbury responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 146 northbound, near Exit 1, in Uxbridge. The operator died as a result of his injuries.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Kenneth Proulx indicates that a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling north on Route 146 when the driver lost control of the car and went off the roadway, rolling over and striking a sign post.

The driver, Devon Jarvis, 26, of Worcester suffered serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding the crash is being conducted by Troop C of the Massachusetts State Police, with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.

State Police were also assisted at the scene by the Uxbridge Police and Fire Departments and the Highway Division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
