SUV totaled in fire at Hampton Beach

HAMPTON, N.H. —Hampton fire crews responded to an SUV that was engulfed in flames early Saturday morning, officials said.

The Hampton Fire Department received several calls at 8:52 Saturday morning, reporting fire involving a 2003 Suburban.

The flames were under control in about two minutes.

No other vehicles were damaged and no one was injured.

The driver had just driven to the beach and parked and said she thought her brakes felt strange.  Officials believe a brake caliber had become stuck and overheated.  The vehicle is unsalvageable, officials said.
