PELHAM, Mass. (WGGB) — A woman killed in a two-car crash on Route 202 in Pelham Thursday has been identified as a Templeton resident.
83-year-old, Theresa Brooks died in the crash which happened at about 8:30 in the evening near Shutesbury Road. The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office made the announcement Friday.
The operator of the vehicle, 54-year-old Keith Boudreau of Gardner, was traveling north at the time of the accident. Police say that he was attempting to pass a Hyundai which was also traveling north, in a legal passing zone. But the Hyundai suddenly turned left. That’s when the two cars collided, causing the vehicle driven by Boudreau to skid out of control. It then went over a guardrail and down an embankment.
Both Brooks and Boudreau were taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center. The driver of the Hyundai, a 20-year-old Raynham man, was not injured.
The hospital reports that Boudreau is in “good condition.”
The investigation into this crash by the Pelham Police Department, the DA’s Office and the State Police continues.
