Waltham woman hurt in High Street head-on crash

WALTHAM – A Waltham woman was hospitalized after a head-on car collision on High Street on Monday morning.

Claudia Cromer was driving a tan Kia Sedona van at around 6:30 a.m. when police say a black GMC Sierra truck, driven by Francis Greeley of Waltham, crossed into her lane and the vehicles collided.

Police said Greeley was trying to pass a female pedestrian pushing a shopping cart across High Street, and veered into the opposite direction of traffic, hitting Cromer’s vehicle head-on.

Neither car was speeding, police said. The impact of the crash also caused Cromer’s vehicle to strike a third car, a Lincoln Town Car.

Cromer was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, though the police did not have any information on her injuries.

Greeley was charged with allegedly driving an unregistered vehicle.
