Wilmington pedestrian killed on Main Street

WILMINGTON – A woman was killed Monday morning when she was struck by a vehicle on Main Street in the area of Glen Road.

The incident occurred at around 11:45 a.m., when a car struck Kim Forte, 51, of Wilmington as she crossed the street.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s office reported that Forte, a resident of Morningside Drive in Wilmington, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Charles McNeil, 43, of Wilmington, was arrested at the scene. He was arraigned Tuesday morning in Woburn District Court, and was charged with motor vehicle homicide by operating under the influence of drugs, a second offense for operating under the influence, and marked lanes violation.

McNeil was ordered held under $10,000 bail with the condition that he not drive.

Main Street was closed to traffic in the area throughout Monday afternoon, while police investigated the accident. Officers could be seen photographing a shoe in the middle of the road. Police rerouted Main Street traffic around the accident area through some side streets.

The Middlesex district attorney’s office is working with police on investigating the crash.
