GEORGETOWN— A woman was killed when the car she was riding in rolled over and crashed on I-95 in Georgetown Saturday afternoon.
The Massachusetts State Police said a car operated by a 48-year-old man from Lynn was traveling southbound on I-95 near Exit 54 at about 5 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled over and crashed.
Both the driver and his passenger were transported to Beverly Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. The unidentified woman was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and the Crime Scene Services Section.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
