HOLYOKE – A woman was injured Thursday morning when she was in a vehicle that drove off the road near Holyoke Community College and struck a tree.
Fire Department spokesman Lt. Thomas G. Paquin said firefighters needed to use the Jaws of Life hydraulic equipment to free the passenger from the wreckage.
The woman, whose name was not released, was transported to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police. More information will be published as it becomes available.
