BILLERICA, MA – A 25-year-old Burlington woman was killed when her car crashed into a guardrail and utility pole early Saturday morning in the area of 894 Boston Road, according to authorities.

Preliminary information obtained in the investigation indicated that speed was a likely factor in the crash.

Billerica Paramedics provided advanced emergency services, while subsequently transporting Ms. Snelson to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries, according to police.

The Nissan Juke was headed south towards the Burlington line.

Boston Road in Pinehurst was shut down for several hours while the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit conducted a crash analysis of the scene.

“The Billerica Police, Fire Department and Paramedics offer our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ms.Snelson,” police said in a statement.
