A man and woman out pushing with their 1-year-old son in a stroller were seriously hurt when a car driven by a 17-year-old girl jumped the sidewalk and struck them in Boston’s South End.
Police say the parents, both in their 30s, were hospitalized after the accident just after 3 p.m. Sunday. The father was taken to Tufts Medical Center with head and leg injuries, while the mother was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for head and neck trauma.
The child was evaluated at a hospital, but did not suffer serious injuries and was released to relatives.
The driver told police she swerved to avoid a taxi, but witnesses say it appeared she was speeding. No names were released.
Police say they expect to cite the driver.
