LEOMINSTER — A man died after being struck by a motor vehicle early Friday evening, police said.
Sgt. Charles Doherty said the identity of the victim is not being released at this time because the family has not been notified yet. He confirmed the pedestrian was a Leominster resident.
The fatal strike occurred at 5:24 p.m. in the area of 410 Central St.
On Friday, Deputy Fire Chief Gary J. Ranno said the man was taken to a Worcester hospital via ambulance.
Ranno said Friday, “It’s dark out and it’s getting kind of foggy. It appears it was definitely an accident.”
Doherty confirmed Saturday morning that the patient died at the hospital.
He said the driver of the motor vehicle has not been charged at this time. The incident is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police.
