SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – The Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team assisted South Hadley Police investigate a motorcycle crash that closed a section of Route 202 for three hours Friday night.
A South Hadley Police dispatcher confirmed for 22News that police had re-opened the section of Route 202, Granby Road that was closed because of a 6:30 p.m. collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
State Trooper Paul Sullivan told 22News that the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, CARS, was dispatched to the accident site, along with Crime Scene Services to take photographs.
“It’s a car versus motorcycle accident on Rt. 202 at Hillside Ave. It sounded serious,” Trooper Sullivan said.
South Hadley Police Sgt. Mark Baran told 22News the motorcycle rider was seriously hurt and rushed to the hospital. There was no update on the victim’s condition early Saturday.
A quarter-mile section of Route 202 was closed for three hours Friday night between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m.
