Woburn Police and Mass State Police officers reconstruct Tuesday’s mid-afternoon crash as part of investigation.
Tuesday, 4:35 p.m.—The Woburn Police Department and Mass State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CARS) Section and Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS) are investigating this afternoon’s crash involving a motorcycle and a dump truck at 1 Presidential Way.
According to the State Police, these reconstruction units “respond to crashes involving, at the least, serious injury.”
The CARS unit analyzes the physical evidence and other evidence and reconstructs what happened, a process that is complex and usually takes several weeks, said MSP Spokesman Dave Procopio. CSSS collects and documents physical evidence and photographs the scene.
At 4:30 p.m., a Woburn Police unit was heard clearing the Presidential Way scene on the scanner.
Tuesday, 2:55 p.m.—Police are investigating an accident that has reportedly sent one person to Mass General Hospital with serious injuries.
According to scanner reports, a motorcycle and dump truck were involved in an accident at Presidential Way near New Boston Road. The motorcyclist was taken to Mass General Hospital with what is reportedly serious injuries.
As of 2:53 p.m., a Woburn Fire apparatus had cleared the scene. Just two minutes later, WFD Rescue 1 reported arriving at MGH with the injured party.
There are reports of a reconstruction team being sent to the area for the accident investigation.
