Two others injured in single-car crash near Exit 9
One person is dead and two others injured in a single-car crash in Freetown.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the wreck happened on Route 24 Southbound in the area of Exit 9.
Route 24 was closed and traffic was diverted as Fire Department crews worked to free them from the wreck. The highway was reopened to traffic shortly before 6pm.
State Police say that the driver, a 27 year-old Fall River man, and a 32 year-old passenger were treated and released from the hospital. Another passenger, a 24 year-old man from Brockton, was pronounced dead at Charleton Memorial Hospital. Their identities are still being withheld until their families are notified.
So far no charges have been filed but the crash remains under investigation.
