State police have identified the two Methuen residents who suffered severe injuries in a single-car rollover on Interstate 495 north in Merrimac on Friday afternoon.
Netaniel Nieves, 30, has been identified as the driver of the 1996 Honda Civic, and Susan M. Earnshaw, 29, as the lone passenger. State police have no updates on their medical conditions, according to a press release.
The crash happened at 4:16 p.m. on Friday north of exit 52 in Merrimac and backed up traffic for hours as police blocked off the northbound side of 495 for two Boston MedFlight helicopters to land.
As of Friday night, Earnshaw was in critical condition at Massachusetts General Hospital and Nieves was in stable condition Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Police said Friday night that it appears the accident was a road-rage incident involving a gray Porsche 911 operated by a white male with white hair. State Troopers are still seeking to identify and interview the operator of the Porsche.
Anyone with information about this vehicle and its operator are asked to contact state police barracks in Newbury at 978-462-7478.
