State Police Investigating Crash with Serious Injuries

Today at 10:55 a.m., Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Concord responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash on Route 2 westbound at Piper Road in Acton.

The preliminary investigation by Trooper Kevin S. Haley indicates that a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Pick-up Truck, being operated by 30 year-old Thomas C. Bouvier Jr. of Marlborough, ran a red light at the intersection and struck the side of a 2008 Toyota Rav-4, being operated by 47 year-old Jian P. Ge of Westford.

As a result of the crash, an operator and a passenger from each vehicle were transported to area hospitals for treatment.  Transported to Emerson Hospital in Concord for treatment of serious injuries were the operators listed above as well as 59 year-old Enrique Basaldo who was a passenger in the Silverado.  A 47 year-old female passenger in the Toyota was transported to UMass Medical Center-Lakeside in Worcester also with serious injuries.  Her name is being withheld pending proper family notification of her injury status.

None of the injuries to any of the four individuals are believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Additional witness interviews are being conducted and the crash remains under investigation by Trooper Haley.  Preliminary indications are that charges will be forthcoming for the operator of the Silverado once all interviews have been completed.
